Dr Puskaraj D Sonawwanay

Dr Puskaraj D Sonawwanay has received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Government College of Engineering Pune, affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (the then University of Pune), Pune, Maharashtra, India, in 1996. He received his Master’s degree in Mechanical Design Engineering from Government College of Engineering Pune, affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (the then University of Pune), Pune, Maharashtra, India, in 2000. He has been awarded “First Rank in ME Mechanical Design Engineering, 2000 batch” at Savitribai Phule Pune University (the then University of Pune), Pune. He is PhD in Mechanical Engineering, with Patent on his Doctoral Research.

He is Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Dr. Vishwanath Karad MIT World Peace University (MIT WPU), Pune, Maharashtra, India. He has over 27 years of Teaching Experience in the Institution and Industry Experience of 1 year. He teaches a variety of subjects to UG and PG students. He has published 49 Research Papers in International Journals, International Conferences and National Conferences, and Co-authored 3 Books and 8 Book Chapters. He has to his credit 5 granted patents and 1 published patent.

He is a recipient of the Prestigious  “Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Award 2016”, at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The award-winning innovation is on “Design of Innovative Retrofitted Tricycle for a Disabled Person.” The award was under the category of ‘More from Less for Many’ (MLM).

His research interests are focused on Materials Processing, Mechanical Engineering Design, and Concentrated Solar Energy.
